HOTEL ST. GEORGE AND THE ITALIAN “TRANSAVANTGARDE” IN MILAN

0

Palazzo Reale is hosting an exhibition entitled “Transavanguardia” (the Transavantgarde movement is the Italian version of Neo-expressionism) from 10 November 2011 to 29 January 2012 with works by: Sandro Chia, Francesco Clemente, Enzo Cucchi, Nicola De Maria and Mimmo Paladino. The event both celebrates 150 years of Italian Unity and is part of a series of six exhibitions dedicated to the Transavantgarde movement, which has placed Italian art and culture on an international level since it birth 40 years ago. The movement, which was named by Achille Bonito Oliva in 1979 after the 39th Biennale of Venice, proposed a return to the manual making of art and its traditions. This large retrospective exhibition offers a look at the inspiration, history and creativity of the movement and presents the most recent works of its now world famous founding artists.

This is also a great opportunity to take advantage of our ViviMilano! package, which is available all year long. We look forward to having you as our guest.
